Dr. Kenneth I. Kohn is the principal of Kohn & Associates. Dr. Kohn holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Immunology, and represents corporations, hospitals, universities, research institutes, investors, financiers, law firms, and individuals throughout the world. Dr. Kohn prosecutes patent applications worldwide in the fields of pharmacology, medicine, chemistry and biotechnology as well as mechanics. He also negotiates international licensing agreements and has acted as a special master of litigation involving complex chemical technology. He manages intellectual property portfolios for corporate and university clients, locally and globally.
Dr. Kohn is an active member in the Association of University Technology Managers, having lectured at five regional meetings; and is a frequent presenter at other regional, national and international meetings. He is also a member of the Michigan Patent Law Association, the American Bar Association, the Economic Club of Detroit and the Michigan Biosciences Industry Association.
Dr. Kohn received his B.S. from the University of Michigan, his Ph.D in Pharmacology and Immunology from Wayne State University, and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Before founding Kohn & Associates in 1995, Dr. Kohn was an intellectual property law clerk for McGlynn & Milton (Troy, MI) and an Intellectual Property Associate and then Partner at Reising, Ethington, Barnard, Perry & Milton (Troy, MI).
